Karl (Schaly) Pichler shaped the Val Passiria like no one else. As the „Untewirtssohn“, the son of the famous tavern in S. Martino, he always had a strong bond towards the Valley he grew up in. In 1990, more than three decades ago, Karl (Schaly) Pichler had the idea to bring the golfsport to the beautiful Val Passiria. For a long time, it seemed as if it should stay with an idea, but Karl Pichler was not a person who gave up easily and if he was convinced of something, then he fought for it - time proved him right. Schaly showed to have great resistance and after much persuasion he was able to open the 9-hole Golf course in 1996 and expanded it to 18-holes eight years later, in 2004. He was particularly pleased when his daughter Renate and his son-in-law Roland had also caught the „golf fever “. He therefore put his passion-project trustingly in the hands of Renate, who now continues to run the Golf Club Passeier.Merano together with her family, with great commitment, in his spirit.
